*sigh*St. Patrick's weekend has finally come to a close...hopefully that will end the sound of bagpipes playing in my head! Today we attended the 184th Annual Savannah St. Patrick's Day Parade. Which is the 2nd largest in the US! This was our first year going and apparently I had NO idea what I was getting us into! The kids and I headed downtown [without Fred, since he had to work this morning]...about an hour and a half before the parade was scheduled to start and were met by massive crowds! We had to park so far away, we might as well have walked from home...not really! [But, it sure felt that way!] We lucked into a 'perfect' spot, right behind 2 little old ladies who only stayed for about 20 minutes of the parade, which left us with front row seating for the remaining 3 hours! YES, that's right...OVER 3 hours of parading! But, it was tons of fun...something people come to experience from all over the country & we are lucky enough to have it happen in our 'backyard'!
Oh, I forgot to mention...Fred finally got outa work, ran home to change, found parking, met up with us and only managed to miss the first couple Irish Clans & HS Marching bands!
